The July 27 born actor spent most of his life in Kolkata and later shifted to with his family to Mumbai. Rahul Bose, an alumnus of the Cathedral and John Connon School, Mumbai, faced the audience at the tender age of 6 when he played the lead in Tom, The Piper's Son. Rahul gradutated form Sydenham College when he was introduced to boxing and rugby and till date plays for the National Orange Indian Rugby Team. Rahul normally spent his time in doing theatre, boxing and playing rugby.
Rahul Bose soon realized his attraction towards this enchanting world of cinema and quit his job at "Rediffusion" as creative director to become a serious actor, writer and director. Debuting with English, August in 1994, Rahul’s acting was applauded and the movie went on to become a cult favourite.
Rahul Bose has always worked in movies that were and has always given him critical appreciation. Rahul’s filmograph also includes many mainstream movies like Chameli, Thakshak, and Jhankaar Beats. Bose has been called "the superstar of Indian arthouse cinema" by Time Magazine.
